Story

Welcome to Modern Petals!

We are Amy and Anna: a flower obsessed mother-daughter team. We've been dreaming up this business for the longest time and we are still pinching ourselves that we're finally here!

Our floral designs are unique because they are primarily made of high quality faux flowers that look and feel real. We absolutely love fresh flowers, so we still add a touch of fresh product - be it greenery or blooms - to our arrangements to give them a wild, airy feel.

By designing with a base of faux materials, we are able to provide luxury designer florals that are not only beautiful, but also sustainable and accessible in all seasons. This also allows us to provide YOU with large show-stopping arrangements for a fraction of the cost of fresh.

Amy has always had a passion for nature and flowers. She spent several years as a wedding florist in Utah working with fresh flowers (as most florists do!) but when she learned about the super realistic faux flowers that we use today, she knew she eventually wanted to move in that direction. Amy currently lives in Orange County, and when she's not working with flowers she loves spending time at the beach and collecting shells.

Anna took the long way to floral design, getting a degree in food science, going to culinary school, and teaching English in Korea for 2 years before following in her mom's footsteps and finding her way here. But she is so excited to be here! She has always been a creative and she is happy to be amongst the flowers. In her free time she loves to read and is always working on a new hobby-- this year: knitting!
